I Didn't Plan to Build a Lifestyle Brand. I Planned to Survive.

There was a time when I believed my career was the destination.
I did everything I was told to do.
I earned the degrees.
I built the experience.
I worked in healthcare.
I served in federal government.
I led teams.
I managed multimillion-dollar budgets.
I helped organizations solve complex problems.
Like so many professional Black women, I believed that education, excellence, and hard work would create stability.
Then everything changed.
Beginning in 2024 and continuing into 2025, thousands of highly qualified professionals found themselves navigating layoffs, hiring freezes, restructuring, and prolonged underemployment. While the overall labor market showed resilience in some areas, Black women experienced some of the steepest employment losses, particularly those with college degrees and those working in public-sector roles.
I became one of them.
Losing a job doesn't just affect your income.
It challenges your identity.
You begin asking questions no résumé can answer.
Who am I without this title?
What happens to everything I've spent years building?
What if this interruption isn't the end?
Those questions became the beginning of something unexpected.
I didn't wake up one morning and decide to build a candle collection.
I wasn't trying to create a journal.
I wasn't trying to design apparel.
I was trying to rebuild my life.
Every product you see today started as something I personally needed.
The candles became intentional moments of peace during uncertain days.
Even the mugs and apparel became daily reminders of the mindset I needed to keep moving forward.
None of these products were created because I wanted to sell things.
They were created because I needed tools to keep becoming.
Then I realized something.
This wasn't just my story.
Across the country, countless talented people were experiencing similar disruptions.
People with degrees.
People with experience.
People who had done everything "right."
Many weren't lacking talent.
They were lacking a roadmap for what came next.
That's when BLIFE stopped being just a consulting company.
It became an ecosystem.

Because building a better business begins with believing you're still capable of building a better life.
Our consulting helps organizations multiply effectiveness.
Our journals help people multiply intentionality.
Our business tools help entrepreneurs multiply ideas into action.
Our candles create space to pause, reflect, and restore.
Because growth doesn't happen in one dramatic moment.
It happens through intentional decisions repeated over time.
